My Front Garden

I haven't been around for a long time, I found it hard to navigate around thoughts, I've been posting a bit on facebook, which I don't like.

My garden here is coming on, I no longer have the energy to do what I used to do but I'm trying.

Seems that my photos have been posted multiply. I will not post like I did before but I will try to post and comment more often. My privacy means so much more to me today and I’m deleting my account on facebook

The photo post bug is about the only one left that I’ve encountered. You can post links to photos online by using a text post then clicking the picture icon. That seems to work best but the trouble is getting the photos online. I usually post them to myself using G+ then link from there.

I think in future I will only post 1 picture at a time, that way nobody has to look at the same photo’s over and over again. They weren’t out of focus until I looked at them here. Glad you liked them

It has happened to me many times when posting pics. I get duplicates. I enjoyed them, just the way they were.

Tomas It’s been hard over the last couple of years to spend time here, however I’ve always thought of this place as home (pun intended), I’ve missed it, but, really haven’t had the time to spend much time here.
I have a long term friend who is a world reknown potter his works are in demand and feature all over the world. He was at my old place when I had a house leaving party and gave me a beautiful bowl to create a new garden around in my new house. When I comment about his talent I said “I have no artistic talent what so ever”.
He took my by the hand and led me to my Japanese garden and said, “this takes talent, artistic talent, every thing is balanced, every thing is in harmony, I can’t do it, this takes patience and time, I need to create quickly or I lose the moment”. Those words have stayed with me. Thank you for repeating what Andrew said

welcome back Sharnsgarden . we are still trying to make this site work, and to some degree it is. Good to see your photos and your presence. Come by when it feels comfortable to do so.

I need to put away some time each day to come here, I didn’t think that so many people would remember me. I’ve missed this place, don’t think I’ve logged in here for about 12 months. Thank you for remembering me.

Oh I remember you and so much more. Pleases me you stop by. Busy people with busy life, and even so, feels good when you look in, post something and go back to doing what it is you do. Happy when you come by. Truly

I have been slack, I didn’t mean to be, life just got in the way. I giving myself a lot more me time and hoping to be able to post more often. My front garden is finally looking a bit better, I’ve made a lot of mistakes, but having now been here for over 4 years, I’m learning from those mistakes.

I specially love the pigfaces, I used to grow those when I had a back yard, they really light up in the sun.

    October 27, 2016
    1. sharnsgarden

I love pigfaces and have grown them whenever I’ve been trying to landscape slopes, this yard is ideal, I have twice or maybe 3 times as many in the backyard, but am battling a brush turkey there and they should look brilliant but have been decimated by said bush turkey by this time next year it will all be bush turkey proof and they should look as good as the front ones. You wouldn’t believe how many butterflies I have in the front garden because of the pigfaces.

Wow, we have turkeys here? I love them too, but it’s sad how they die off in winter. Spring is only just starting down here, though the cold is due back tomorrow. I’d love to see those butterflies, we don’t get a lot of them here, usually just the orange and brown ones.

I’ve been thinking of you wondering how you’re doing – - – so glad to see you posting. Your garden is amazing!

Life has been too busy with too many of the wrong things since I moved here, I’ve slowly putting “stuff” into perspective, ridding myself of a lot of the things, people and problems that I don’t need and making more time for me. I didn’t take any photos of the bits that I’m working on and the front garden is still a work in progress.

Fabio ace garden, it’s just a bunch of boring old plants

    October 31, 2016
    1. sharnsgarden

So true, but they all supply oxygen, are a source of pollen for bees, a place to breed butterfly’s, they feed the native birds and are a place of hiding for our native blue tongue lizards and even snakes. I’m contributing not taking away.
Even boring old plants have a place in this modern world.

So beautiful. You should add a little pond or something.

    October 31, 2016
    1. sharnsgarden

I’ve had pond’s, but this is a high mosquito area, I don’t need the extra mosquito’s or the extra work. I had a large pond in my last house and work involved in keeping it clear, clean and not mosquito infected was actually more than having a very formal garden. This garden isn’t going to be formal, just a hodge podge of things that work.

Do you get bitten by the mosquitoes?
